Our Production

Pure Silks collaborates with environmentally friendly workshops. Our OEKO-TEX certified products are free from harmful substances, ensuring top-quality silk. We're committed to sustainability, using natural dyes and eco-friendly processes. By-products are recycled, and we work with local craftspeople to maintain high quality and reduce our carbon footprint. We source recyclable packaging from local UK businesses and use Royal Mail's Eco-Friendly option. Our warehouse is working towards a green energy rating. In 2025, we switched to recycled cotton dust bags for our packaging.

Common questions we receive:

  • Is silk vegan? No, silk is produced by silkworms, making it non-vegan. For vegan alternatives, consider hemp, bamboo, or Tencel.
  • Is silk production cruel? Our silkworm cocoons are harvested before the worm emerges. Silkworms are kept in warm, humid environments and fed mulberry leaves.

At Pure Silks, we're dedicated to creating a sustainable future for our customers, workers, and the environment.
